Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) sends its sincerest condolences to all those affected by the recent catastrophic flooding in Thailand.
Today, Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. (TMT) decided that it would restart production on November 21.
TMC President Akio Toyoda, visiting Thailand to see the effect of the floods personally and to see what could be done to aid recovery, went to the Thai Government’s Privy Council Chambers and presented a 10 million baht donation from TMC to the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation. He also expressed his sincere condolences to those suffering from the floods.
In connection with plant operations, he said: “Toyota is starting to get a firm grasp of the situation and would like to restart production as soon as possible so as to restore normalcy to those affected. Therefore, we plan to restart plant operations in Thailand on November 21.” He also reaffirmed his commitment to Thailand by saying: “Toyota is not considering shrinking its operations here. If anything, we would expand.” He also wished for the people of Thailand to have hope for the future and to never give up.
TMC apologizes for any inconvenience the ongoing production adjustments may cause.
