A Classic twist on handmade traditional mooncakes at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy

Savour a classic twist on handmade traditional mooncakes by Head Chef Lester Wang during the Mooncake festival at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy.

A popular Chinese tradition, the Mooncake festival bestows families the opportunity to gather together and enjoy mooncakes along with a pot of fragrant tea. Available in more than 20 flavours, the mixture of handmade baked and snow skin mooncakes by Head Chef Lester Wang oozes both nostalgia and modernity.

The desire to recreate the good old times of Singapore spurred the team to come up with 2 new flavours: traditional Black Bean Paste baked mooncakes and ‘Ying Yang’ snow skin mooncake. The ‘Ying Yang’ comprises of both white lotus and black bean which marries the taste of nostalgia and modernity perfectly together.

Look out for other crowd favourites like Jia Wei Durian, Signature Italian Dark Coffee, Raspberry with Dark Chocolate and more.

They also served as excellent gifts for giveaways to families and friends. Inspired by traditional Chinese customs, the packaging is filled with Chinese calendar motifs which add a degree of nostalgia during the Golden Jubilee.

“For this year’s Mooncake Festival, we want to give our customers a taste of the past through our classic flavours. That is also reflected through the packaging and the efforts towards each handmade mooncake for the best texture.” said Mr Klaus Gottschalk, General Manager of Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy.

Mooncakes are available for purchase from 14 August – 27 September at Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant and Wave Café. For pre-orders and other enquiries, please call (65) 6340 5678 or visit www.grandmercureroxy.com.sg
