Singapore, December 2015 – Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy has put together an extensive selection comprising of our traditional takeaways, delectable goodies and exquisite set menus which are excellent as gifts or for organising hassle-free reunion dinners with beloved family members and friends for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebration.

At Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant, the signature creation of Master Chef Victor Lee is the Baked Pig Trotter in Golden Ingot. The pig trotter is slowly cooked along with 8 Head Abalone and an assortment of seasonal vegetables in his signature sauce. It is encased in salt which is shaped like a golden ingot. Upon serving, the chef will break open the top of the golden ingot, releasing all the goodness. All orders require 1 day advance booking.

Another traditional Lunar New Year takeaway item will be the Prosperity Salmon or Lobster ”Yu Sheng”, a festive salad for good luck. For hassle-free and sumptuous reunion dinners, look out for the signature Jia Wei Treasure Pot “Pen Cai” and “Buddha Jump Over the Wall”. These traditional delicacies consist of premium ingredients which are cooked to perfection in a pot of rich broth. They are combined with other Lunar New Year favourites and signature dishes such as Jia Wei Roasted Duck.

Do not miss out the delicious Lunar New Year goodies that are handmade by Head Chef Lester Wang. Besides the signature and ever popular Pineapple tarts, Kueh Bahulu, Fragrance Honey Bee Hive and lots more, there are two new creations, namely Mocha cookies and Blueberry cookies.

In addition, the lobby of Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy’s hotel lobby will be decorated with Lunar New Year flowers and ornaments as we welcome the Year of the Monkey.

For the months of January and February, Wave Café will introduce two chef’s specialties: Nyonya Assam Prawns with Steam Rice and Spicy Spaghetti with Crispy Soft Shell Crab. They are accompanied with beverages and a slice of either Banana cake or Butter cake. From 11 February to 14 February, breez bistro will be offering a delicately crafted Valentine’s Day 5-course set menu with a bottle of fine wine for 2 persons
