Ascendas Group Wins Prestigious Awards in Transparency and Corporate Governance
- Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust wins Most Transparent Company Award and is Runner-up for Singapore Corporate Governance Award, both in the REITs and Business Trusts category
- Ascendas India Trust is Merit winner of Singapore Corporate Governance Award in REITs & Business Trusts category
- Singapore, 8 November 2013 – The Ascendas Group has received recognition for excellence in transparency and corporate governance at the Securities Investors Association Singapore (SIAS) Investors’ Choice Awards 2013.
- Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust (A-REIT), Singapore’s first and largest listed business space and industrial Real Estate Investment Trust, won the Most Transparent Company Award in the REITs and Business Trusts category for its third consecutive year. It was also named Runner-up winner of the Singapore Corporate Governance Award in the same category. Ascendas India Trust (a-iTrust) was a Merit winner for the Singapore Corporate Governance Award in the REITs and Business Trusts category for the second consecutive year.
- Mr Manohar Khiatani, Ascendas President and Group CEO, said: “We are honoured to be recognised at the SIAS Investors’ Choice Awards. Since 2004, the Group has received 15 awards from SIAS, a testimony of our continuous efforts and principles in practicing good corporate governance and transparency in all our business entities.”
- Mr Tan Ser Ping, Executive Director and CEO of Ascendas Funds Management (S) Limited, the manager of A-REIT, said: “A-REIT is pleased to be on the SIAS award winning panel for 9 years, since the introduction of the REITs & Business Trust award category in 2004. - SIAS is the largest organised investor lobby group in Asia that actively promotes investor education, corporate governance and transparency, and is the watchdog for investor rights in Singapore. Now into its 14th year, the annual SIAS Investors’ Choice Awards honours and recognises public-listed companies which have demonstrated exemplary corporate governance and transparency practices throughout the year.
