Wellbeing and the Olympic Games

The Olympic Games inevitably focuses people’s minds on the idea of personal wellbeing - primarily physical, but also psychological.

Our commitment to embed corporate responsibility and wellbeing into every level of our operations and decision making is a defining element in the Atos culture. A number of quantifiable, measurable companywide programs at Atos are enhancing skills and operating performance through wellbeing.

As a global employer, it is a strategic priority for us to maintain a motivating and rewarding workplace for our talented business technologists. Our Wellbeing@work program uses the latest digital technologies to transform the way we work, enabling a new level of collaboration across our company and improving the work/life balance of our employees. In 2015, we accelerated digital skills training across our workforce and launched initiatives to attract new employees. It’s all part of our commitment to entrepreneurship and teamwork as part of operational excellence.

In Rio, we are participating in a Brazilian Government vocational training program for young people. In preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games we took on six local apprentices to work alongside our experts in areas such as venue support, operations and testing. Members of the core Atos Olympic Games Project team come from a variety of countries, all with many years Olympic Games experience. They have been joined in Rio by two Atos Japan employees preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and more than 100 local staff.

For us, wellbeing isn’t just a concept or a box to be ticked – it’s something that changes how we work and think, and encourages us to develop our potential to deliver our best.
