Press release -

Singapore's no.1 home improvement site, Kluje.com, to provide better quality contractors around Asia

For immediate release, Singapore, 19th June ’15Kluje.com, the award winning service for homeowners to access better quality contractors will expand beyond its home market, Singapore, to take on Asia. The first three markets will be Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Kluje's service empowers homeowners to post their ‘jobs' for free. Those jobs are then viewed by vetted and qualified contractors, and up to 3 of them will 'bid' on the job. These contractors will then 'quote' on the job and the homeowner selects the best one.

Kluje makes it easier for homeowners and contractors to keep track of home improvement projects. With a proven track record, the business is expected to scale rapidly when it moves across to neighbouring borders.

"Kluje will benefit our users (homeowners and contractors) everywhere by managing their home improvement projects more effectively," says Andrew Esmonde-White, CEO and founder of Kluje. "By localizing the service, we aim to make this service accessible to 200million households in the region."

After two years of operating, Kluje now has an impressive list of contractors to offer services for every household need. The categories of work include air-conditioner, waterproofing, landscaping and much more.

To aid in offering its services outside of Singapore, Kluje will be hiring in these markets to help expand its reach. Having a native country manager and a sales team in each location is the way to ensure successful localization.

Besides being a matchmaker of homeowners and contractors, Kluje creates a ranking system for contractors. Currently, with no industry benchmarks for contractors, it is often a game of chance when hiring one. Relying on user feedback and reviews, Kluje separates the wheat from the chaff.

"As one of our portfolio companies in the home improvement services space and we are excited on Kluje's expansions plans," says John Fearon, Co-Founder of Sugar. "With property prices rising in the region, Kluje is in the right place to tap into the multi-billion dollar home maintenance industry."

Kluje plans to continue its aggressive attitude on the local market and bring it into the region.
