The other to look for will be the thickness of the top real wood layer. Some manufacturers who mass produced low quality engineered wood, have very thin layer of the real wood part from the board. Anything top wood layer that is less than 3mm is not advisable to have. This is because refinishing of such particular engineered wood is not possible. Any top layer above 3mm can be resanded and refinised at least 2 to 3 times. Hence such good quality engineered wood floor board can last for decades or even a lifetime.
