Q: What do you mean by “high performance fabric”?
A: High performance fabrics are made with higher tolerance, that is, high rub cycles. They also undergo quality testing such as the Martindale Test which is an abrasion test where the fabric is rubbed with considerable pressure over and over again. The test ends when three threads are broken, and the number of rubs depends on how tough the fabric has to be. For example, a 20,000 rub cycle is indicated for the Martindale-that means three threads were broken after 20,000 rubs.
Some high performance fabrics may also have fire retardant qualities. Goodrich carries a collection of mostly USA- certified fire retardant fabrics.
Q: Do you have any blackout fabrics?
A: Yes, we certainly do, from PVC and foam-backed blackout to 4-Pass layering. The range comes in plain or with subtle texture in a wide array of colors.
