We spend the least time in the dining room. Which is why you should make it outstanding so that when you do use it, it becomes a fantastic experience.

This interior concept takes its cue from fashion magazines. It showcases an interplay of graphic and floral patterns. The key to this is a heavy use of black and white, complemented by neutral shades and accentuated with a non-offensive colour.

Dining tables are usually rooted to one spot so why not create a permanent ‘rug’ on the floor by using the Vienna Nero mosaics from Bisazza? Paint the walls in a bluish grey shade (47 2030-B10G from Jotun) to help offset the starkness of black and white, but dress the centre wall in damask wallcovering of black motifs on a white background (Delight 010 from Goodrich ). If you have windows, use curtains also with black patterns on white, such as Goodrich’s Lagoon 007.

Complete the area with an all-white table with all-black chairs or vice versa. For the accent, upholster chairs in some yellow or light green fabric, with white or black trimmings or motifs.
