What’s the difference between carpets and rugs, you might ask? Although often used interchangeably, the difference between the two, really, is in the size. Carpets are more often than not wall to wall or are at least 40 sq ft, but rugs, which are smaller, come in a variety of sizes and are meant to accentuate spaces. The materials used to produce carpets & rugs are essentially the same.

Carpets and rugs are commonly used in certain parts of the home s, such as the living room and bedroom. The kitchen, however, is a space where it is not recommended simply because the risk of getting them dirty is extremely high.

Having carpet or rug in spaces, however holds some advantages. It helps absorb the sound of footsteps, which is a neighbourly thing to do if you are living in a high-rise apartment and tend to come back home late at night. For households with children or the elderly, it can help to cushion falls should they happen.
