Furnishing the Eco Way!

Is Eco furnishing the next “IN” thing in town!?

Well, being Eco friendly has been one of the recent talking point in town. We all want to do our part to the environment. And as local furniture contractors to give our consumers the best opinion, we will tell them having eco friendly furniture is good. But most importantly of all, the habit of thinking for our environment has to be seen in our day to day activities.

Basically, if we can do these simple things at home, it will be good enough to help our environment in our little ways. Things like switching off electricity appliances after use, don’t charge your mobile phones over night, used recycled bags for your groceries, separate your litter so as to ensuring recycling is at a proper way, using green energy for your fuel. Doing all of these, you have already did a great help the eco environment.

We can’t say that buying Eco friendly furniture contribute a lot but it does help a little. One type of eco friendly furniture which you can look into is probably looking into the benefits of natural wood furniture

Wood is a natural material that is commonly made into household furniture, flooring as well as other decorations. For natural wood furniture, it is usually environmentally friendly to manufacture. Another benefit of wood is that it does not accumulate any dust mites so it is highly safe for home interior in enclosed spaces. Wood can also be recycled and refurbished to make it everlasting as well as kinder to the environment.

Recycling the Good Old Nostalgia

Wood furniture not only it gives a luxurious look to your home, it also brings back good memories. In Singapore, there are some good wood furniture companies (including us! HAHA!), which is open to ideas of collecting old wooden furniture, in particular teak and indian rosewood furniture from home owners, and helping them to refurbish to construct into new furniture; well with a vintage look.

Perhaps there are some deep cuts in the ancient wood furniture left by your parents or your great-great-great grandparents, that can be purposely restored in better finishes; so as to give your interior a kind of nostalgia or a memory of your family history.

To prevent us from going too far back in time, just want to say that if we are looking at getting a very good, sturdy, solid and Eco friendly furniture; perhaps wood furniture can be one of your considerations.

Upcoming Eco Furniture in the Future?

There is currently new designs and technologies when it comes to Eco friendly furniture. In the market, we start to see some smaller household furniture and cutlery that is made up of eco friendly materials such as corn or bamboo. Moreover, coconut and sea shells are also be seen to be more in demand in the future. As such kind of furniture makes the home looks more unique as it gives it a more resort tropical feel.

In summary, perhaps we are getting more eco conscious or we are getting more fashion conscious; such phenomenon explains the reason why there is such a new trend of Eco friendly furniture. Well, this answer is up to each individual home owner to decides.
