MHE-Demag Malaysia co-sponsors the 2011 KL Tower BASE Jump, organised in conjunction with the 1-Malaysia festivities and held from Sept 28 – Oct 1, 2011.

“To support KL Tower - a long standing customer - and to emphasise that we also do “courageous leaps” to reach new heights for our customers, MHE-Demag chose to become a sponsor of the KL Tower BASE Jump this year,” says Regional Managing Director MHE-Demag Mr Per Magnusson.

MHE-Demag’s relationship with the KL Tower dates back to 1995 when the company supplied the first Building Maintenance Units (BMUs) and cranes to the tower. Today, the outstanding landmark is equipped by MHE-Demag with:

  • a custom-made Manntech BMU to clean the tower shaft and the base of the tower head
  • a type 1 Manntech BMU to clean glass and maintain the lights around the tower head
  • a custom-made Demag winch located at the roof of the tower head to lift components such as antenna dishes from the ground to the tower roof
  • a crane located next to the antenna featuring a Demag DH hoist to lift components from the roof to the upper floors
