KONE UltraRope™

The KONE UltraRope™ is a new hoisting technology that could eliminate many of the disadvantages of conventional steel rope, and opens up new possibilities in high-rise building design. Comprised of a carbon-fiber core and a unique high-friction coating, KONE UltraRope is extremely light, which reduces energy consumption in high-rise buildings.

KONE wins an order for KL118 Tower, the tallest building in Malaysia

KONE will be supplying 105 elevators and escalators to KL118 Tower, a 118-storey mixed use tower developed by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Comprising of a total of more than 400,000sqm of residential, hotel and commercial functions, KL118 tower is expected to be the tallest building in Malaysia, upon completion in 2019, a new landmark of the country.

KONE wins order for Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Tower, the world's tallest building

Kingdom Tower, which is being built by Saudi Bin Laden Group, is expected to rise to the height of more than one kilometer upon completion in 2018. Featuring KONE's people flow solutions, the building will have the world's fastest double deck elevators with travel speed of over 10 m/s as well as the world's highest elevator rise at 660 meters.

First KONE UltraRope(TM) installed at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, in time for the World Architecture Festival

KONE today announced the first customer installation of its new, super-light and durable KONE UltraRope(TM) elevator hoisting technology at Marina Bay Sands integrated luxury resort in Singapore. The new elevator hoisting ropes were installed in a passenger elevator that travels from the ground floor to floors 34-57, or 195 meters, in Tower 3 of the hotel.

KONE wins order for Australia 108 luxury apartment building in Melbourne

KONE won an order to supply 13 elevators to the Australia 108 apartment building development on 70 Southbank Boulevard in Melbourne. The 100-floor building will house over 1,100 apartments and will become Melbourne's first super-tall skyscraper, measuring 319 meters. The building will be equipped with 10 KONE MiniSpace™ high-speed elevators with KONE UltraRope® and three KONE MonoSpace® elevators.
