World Marketing Summit Singapore Tackles Smart Nation Drive

Singapore – 3 October 2018. 200 delegates from Singapore and around the region are expected to attend the first World Marketing Summit in the country at the end of the year. The theme, “Strategies for Marketpreneurs to Excel in Global Smart Cities” will tackle the issues, the opportunities, and the strategies that the new breed of Marketers – the Marketpreneurs – can learn in an increasingly connected business landscape.

The World Marketing Summit is a global organisation headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Its vision is to create a better world through Marketing. This vision is achieved by engaging leaders in various industries to come together and discuss the various ways to improve people’s lives. This year, Singapore’s World Marketing Summit will be inviting global leaders from the Marketing and Tech industries to shed light on how Marketers can transform themselves and be conduits of change.

“As a creative profession, Marketing’s role in digitally connected cities, like Singapore, carries with it the responsibility of ensuring that what they create can positively impact lives and businesses. Marketers need to be creative, yes; however, they also need to be tech savvy and they need to have the entrepreneurial skills to convert these contents, ads, and events,” said MIS President Roger Wang on the importance of the summit.

Dr. Fahim Kibria, Chief Marketing Officer of Kotler Impact, agreed. “Digitalisation, especially Artificial Intelligence, is a disruption in people’s lives. It can have positive and negative consequences to different industries if it is not well-managed. As Singapore is one of the highly-connected countries in the Asia, it is fitting that the World Marketing Summit discuss how we can create opportunities for our Marketers and other professionals to tackle this disruption.”

The France – Singapore Year of Innovation, a joint agreement between France and Singapore to declare 2018 as a Year of Innovation, have come on board to support the inaugural event.
