14 April 2015: NBAS Luncheon Talk with Torbjørn Kjus, Chief Oil Analyst DNB Norway

Torbjørn Kjus is today recognised as one of the world’s leading oil industry commentators. He was one of the first oil price contrarians and has since 2011 provided regular updates to the US Treasury Department (Markets Room) on oil prices and the global oil market. He argued early in 2012 that international oil prices will stabilise and even drop in the next few years as US net imports of oil will continue to decrease dramatically on a combination of lower domestic oil demand and growth in shale liquids supply.

Torbjørnhas 12 years of experience in the oil industry and is a well-known name in this space. In 2011 he was invited by the Markets Room in the US Treasury Department (advisers on energy policies for Obama's administration) to do an oil presentation in Washington, and has since provided the Markets Room with regular oil market updates. He also provides regular updates of the oil market to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and is frequently interviewed/quoted in media, like Wall Street Journal, Platts, Bloomberg, Reuters, Dow Jones Newswires, Montel, CNBC, Norwegian television channels (NRK/TV2), Nordic financial media (Dagens Næringsliv/Finansavisen/Dagens Industri), etc. Prior to joining DNB, his previous role includes more than 5 years as an oil market analyst and oil trader at Norsk Hydro in Oslo and BP in London.
