Norwegian fish and Odfjell wine tasting event 29 May 2014 18.30 at The American Club

NBAS is pleased to invite you to an interesting and tasteful event with both Norwegian seafood and Odfjell wine tasting on the menu.

We will have two interesting presentations this evening:

• Norway – an oil nation or a seafood nation?
• A Norwegian wine adventure in Chile & wine tasting

Norway – an oil nation or a seafood nation?

Norwegian seafood has been exported since the days of the Vikings and today Norwegian salmon is known to be one of Norway’s few global brands. Still, Norway is equally well known for oil, shipping, Ole Gunnar Solskjær and the fjords.

Christian Chramer, Norwegian Seafood Council’s representative in South-East Asia will take us on a storytelling journey from the time of the Vikings through the Hanseatic trade with cod and to the new salmon adventure of today, arguing that the seafood built modern time Norway. The stories will be accompanied with taste bites from Chef Jimmy Chok of Singapore who will serve the guests dishes of Norwegian cod, -salmon and -king crab followed by a Norwegian Seafood buffet.

A Norwegian wine adventure in Chile

Over 25 years ago, the pioneering Norwegian Armador, (ship owner) Dan Odfjell discovered and fell in love with a small corner of the famous Maipo Valley, Chile. Born in the rain of Bergen, Norway, he could not resist the attraction of the austral sun in this Virgilian setting.

His son, Laurence W Odfjell, is the architect behind the Odfjell Vineyards. Laurence will take us through the fascinating story of the development of the wine adventure in Chile accompanied by a fascinating winetasting of these three tempting Odfjell wines: Orzada Carignan, Orzada Malbec and Aliara.
