FASTBOOKING reinforces its presence in Thailand

  • A new Country Director has been appointed
  • The customer-facing team is enlarged

FASTBOOKING, an Asian-bred company that enables more than 2.000 hotels across Asia to improve their profitability, is expanding its footprint in Thailand. The company has appointed Peter Yap, a long-serving industry executive, as Country Director and will invest to bolster its customer service team and improve technology to underscore its business proposition in this country. Thailand is a key market for the company, where it has been serving customers[1] for at least a decade.

With a reputation for strong leadership in this industry sector, one of Mr. Yap’s first objectives will be to strengthen the customer-facing team in Bangkok in order to support the growth of FASTBOOKING. My intention is to first develop close working relationships with our existing partners, ensuring that they maximise their opportunities to profitably grow their business with direct sales. Mr. Yap’s career in sales and online distribution for the hospitality industry well qualifies him for the role. He recently headed up the regional sales efforts in Asia for Revinate and before that led operations in Asia for Cox and Kings. He has also managed key accounts and the sales efforts for Pegasus Solutions. Before he moved into online distribution, Mr. Yap worked in hotels for Millennium & Copthorne and the Regent Singapore.

FASTBOOKING provides hoteliers with products, solutions and expertise to maximize the revenues they derive from online bookings. The company offers three key solutions:

  • A cloud-based CRS solution that incorporates an internet booking engine, GDSs connectivity and a Channel Manager that connects to more than 200 distributor channels. The FASTBOOKING platform is to integrate with the hotels existing technological infrastructure, seamless interfacing with more than 100 international and local partners, be they PMS, RMS, Loyalty Systems, Payment Gateways, etc.
  • FASTBOOKING also offers e-marketing services to increase website traffic and conversion rate through search engine marketing and direct link, meta-search engine connectivity and display ads.
  • The third facility is that FASTBOOKING builds and optimizes hotel websites from its Asian Studio based in Singapore.

Collectively these tools improve a hotel’s competitiveness to secure direct reservations online, which results in greater profitability.

The company was established in Singapore in 2003 and has since built a portfolio of over 2,000 hotel customers in Asia, which range from small independent hotels to regional and international hotel chains.[i]
