Horangi Strengthens Asia Pacific Team with Senior Hire

Singapore – Horangi Cyber Security announced today that Chang Hon Kit has been appointed Director of Sales, Asia Pacific, a key hire to the company’s Asia Pacific team.

Chang Hon Kit

“We are excited to welcome Hon Kit onboard as Horangi continues its growth across the region. Hon Kit’s strong experience in the business of cyber security and his expansive connections across the region will help Horangi scale dramatically, accelerate our growth and create value for our customers as we move towards Series B fund-raising,” said Paul Hadjy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Horangi Cyber Security.

As the Director of Sales for Horangi Cyber Security, Hon Kit is responsible for building and leading the Asia Pacific sales team as well as supervising regional business development operations. He is also responsible for growing the sales channel through referral, alliance and Value at Risk partners to accelerate the company’s growth strategy. He brings over two decades of experience from companies such as Check Point Software, FireEye, Trend Micro, and Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific.

About Horangi Cyber Security

Horangi aims to solve two major business problems within the cyber security industry. The first is to increase the scalability of our high-calibre team of cyber security experts, which addresses the fact that there are not enough adept cyber security professionals to meet demand to develop capability in-house. Secondly, to offer advisory that gives the cyber security finding relevance to a business’ objectives, as it is often very difficult to derive, and state, the relevance of a cyber security finding. The second problem is compounded by the first.

“The mid-market is most affected by these challenges, so Horangi’s aim is to develop affordable solutions that can scale with its mid-sized customers as their businesses expand. Horangi’s products are called Scanner, Hunter, and Storyfier,” Hadjy adds.

Horangi doesn’t resell off-the-shelf enterprise products and isn’t a systems integrator. Off-the-shelf packages make it difficult for a mid-market business to scale their cyber security defensive practices as they grow. Instead, Horangi’s products put best-practice to work at the mid-market stage, in a manner that makes it easy for the business to scale and not lose the integrity of their cyber security defenses.

By bringing Hon Kit as a senior hire into the team, Horangi aims to lean on his industry connections to firmly establish the agency as a market leader in the mid-market space for cyber security products and consultancy.

NOTES TO EDITORS

Horangi’s products include:

Scanner is a cloud-based vulnerability management solution designed to discover vulnerabilities in web applications, network-attached systems, and source code. It taps Horangi’s ever-growing library of over 50,000 threat signatures, which is supplemented by the work of Cyber Researchers and red team attack simulations conducted by Horangi’s Cyber Operations team. The team also is focused on identifying a customer’s business goals to gather clear requirements for the engineers, who are also tasked to see how these products are used first hand.

Hunter is a breach detection platform that is comprised of an endpoint collection agent, proprietary threat hunting algorithms, and Incident Response experts who perform forensic analysis. It is built to counter advanced persistent threats and communicate business impact in Storyfier for Horangi’s cyber security command centre to easily review collected information, so that actions can be taken quickly.

Storyfier is a risk management solution designed to provide visibility to executives making business decisions - it tells the whole story of a customer's security posture, and tracks metrics from a variety of sources and includes perspectives at the Strategic, Operational, and Tactical levels which extend visibility to tech managers and technical operators. The idea is to enable the executives to make decisions, tech managers to monitor workflow, and technical operators to ask questions about specific security tasks.
