Northstar Travel Media announces the relaunch of Travel Weekly Asia

Secaucus, NJ USA, October 27, 2014 – Northstar Travel Media announced today the relaunch of Travel Weekly Asia as a fully-integrated media platform for the Asia-Pacific travel market. Among the new initiatives in the relaunch are Travel Weekly Asia, a monthly print publication, a redesigned website and a responsive e-newsletter.

Travel Weekly Asia provides the Asia Pacific travel market with up-to-date news and market intelligence. The print publication, which will be distributed to 11,000 qualified and authorized travel professionals across the Asia-Pacific region, offers a variety of editorial segments such as agency stories, leaders in travel, social media and destination reports. It primarily targets senior and middle management.

The Travel Weekly Asia responsive e-newsletter, delivered daily to over 15,000 travel industry leaders, takes a global wrap of news headlines from the Northstar Travel Media family of brands, including Travel Weekly (U.S.A), Web in Travel, Business Travel News and others.

The redesigned website features a comprehensive cruise and hotel directory with over 300,000 hotel listings and global cruise listings.

“This is an exciting time for Travel Weekly Asia,” said Irene Chua, the group publisher of Travel Weekly Asia. “We have redesigned our print and digital platforms so that Asia’s travel professionals have instant and convenient access to travel industry information on a daily basis.”

Northstar Travel Media, the leading business-to-business information company serving the travel and meetings industries, acquired Travel Weekly China, Travel Weekly Asia, and Events China from Contineo Media, a multi-platform information provider based in Singapore, with locations in Beijing and Shanghai.

“We’re very excited about the increased impact a renewed Travel Weekly Asia will have across the Asia Pacific travel industry,” said Yeoh Siew Hoon, editorial director, WIT and Travel Weekly Asia. “It demonstrates our dedication to providing the best information to our global audience.”

“Irene Chua and the Travel Weekly Asia team have done an outstanding job,” said Bob Sullivan, executive vice president of the Travel Group/Travel Weekly. “We can now provide unique content to our readers on a cutting edge platform.”

According to PhoCusWright’s Asia Pacific Online Travel Overview Seventh Edition, the Asia-Pacific region is projected to surpass Europe to once again become the world's largest regional travel market in 2014, with US$390 billion in gross travel bookings by 2016.
