Making Jelly with Family and Friends

Royal Selangor is bringing back its fun and interactive jelly-making workshops this October. To highlight the jelly moulds and jelly making workshops, a media conference was held at The Café at Royal Selangor Visitor Centre.

Showing their support for the programme were local celebrities YB Datin Sofia Jane, Melissa Saila and Joanne Kam. Most of them came with their children, demonstrating that a family could have great fun at the jelly-making workshop while supporting a worthy cause. Also present at the event were the patron of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), Puan Sri Datin Seri Dato' Akmal Abdul Salam and Ranjit Kaur, Chief Executive Officer of the BCWA.

Speaking at the launch event, General Manager of Royal Selangor International, Yong Yoon Li said, "In the last few years, we started these jelly-making workshops as a fun activity in the month of October to highlight Breast Cancer awareness. This event not only helps raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Welfare Association but also brings people together - celebrating life, love and humour."

Designed by British designer Nick Munro, the mountain-inspired conical shaped jelly mould is a novel idea that revisits an old tradition with a modern twist and draws attention to the versatility, lustrous sheen and the functionality of Royal Selangor's designs.

Royal Selangor will be conducting the jelly-making workshops at the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre's Café this October for purchases of the jelly mould. Conducted in groups of at least 10 people, participants will have a fun session making their jellies using the pewter jelly mould while enjoying a scrumptious afternoon tea. Participants will get to bring home their jelly as well as the pewter jelly mould. Royal Selangor will be donating RM 80 to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association for every purchase of the jelly mould, priced at RM 290 each. The workshops are open to everyone, including families, organisations or clubs that wish to have a fun day out while helping a good cause.

The jelly mould can also be purchased at Royal Selangor retail stores and online at royalselangor.com. Presented in a hot-pink box, each jelly mould comes with delicious jelly recipes contributed by chefs from different parts of the world. They include Emmanuel Stroobant, Ken Hoh, Yvan Cadiou, Jean-Pierre Wybauw, and many more including Royal Selangor Visitor Centre's Café.
