Space Matrix appoints Tom Banwell to lead new Hong Kong Office as Managing Director of Workplace, North Asia

Singapore, 1 August 2015: Space Matrix, Asia’s second largest interior design firm providing design and design and build services in the corporate workplace sector. Space Matrix will be expanding it’s operations in Hong Kong and has appointed Tom Banwell as Managing Director of Workplace, North Asia.

According to Space Matrix Founder Shagufta Anurag, “We are thrilled that Tom has joined the Space Matrix family. By opening a Hong Kong office, it shows our strong commitment to the region. With Tom on board, he will focus on both building and maintaining strong and lasting customer relationships. He has fitted effortlessly into the team.”

By simultaneously opening an office in Hong Kong and expanding our growth in North Asia, we will primarily focus on expanding our services in China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. The company's mission is to be the market leader in workplace design and execution in Asia, both in revenue and thought leadership.

As Managing Director, based in Hong Kong, Tom will handle overseeing business operations, strategic planning, project management, human resources, design technology, and client relationships.

Before joining Space Matrix, Tom was the Managing Director of RHK Design in Hong Kong for over five years. Tom has over 14 years working experience in both the UK and Asia markets. Past projects include: Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, Wells Fargo, Bank of Singapore, Standard Life, Louis Vuitton Asia Pacific, Bluecrest Asset Management, Marshall Wace, Myriad Asset Management, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Addleshaw Goddard, Goodwin Proctor, TBWA and BBDO.

“Space Matrix has already delivered high-quality projects in Hong Kong last year, including Vodafone, Varian Medical, Gartner, Rolls Royce and Brocade.
