Swing for the Kids unites arts and golf on international women's day to uplift lives of underprivileged kids

Singapore, 4 December 2014: Swing for the Kids calls for all golf enthusiasts, art aficionados and funseekers to join its annual charity auction and golf tournament on 8 March 2015 at Palm Springs Golf & Beach Resort on Singapore's neighbouring island Batam, Indonesia. The donations and proceeds raised will benefit four orphanages in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

For the first time, Swing for the Kids will auction limited art pieces from renowned Asia based artists including Andre Tan, Andrew Gurnett, Marcel Heijnen, Louise Low, Sukeshi Sondhi and Ketna Patel. The live auction will also offer exciting lifestyle items from a cocktail masterclass by Singapore’s owned Peter Chua, Southeast Asia Bartender of the Year 2014 and World Top 6, to an exotic weekend getaway on a private island at Telunas Resort or a luxurious stay at W Hotel Singapore.

The funds will support ongoing projects including construction of dormitories, roads, playgrounds and libraries to improve the living and learning environment for the less fortunate kids.

"We can make a difference in changing the lives of needy kids by helping improve their living conditions, giving them a more hopeful future. Our vision is to enable the orphanages become sustainable so they can focus on caring and nurturing the children," said Christian Rahnsch, Chairman of Swing for the Kids organising committee.

"Through funds donated in the last two years, we were able to build a new classroom and a dormitory, upgrade the school library as well grow a vegetable garden that goes into providing nutritious meals to the kids. These efforts truly make an impact in the lives of the children in need. In 2015, we are hoping to improve the school facilities to accommodate our older kids and build a new playground where the kids can learn and have fun. We thank you in advance to help us realise these projects," said Joel B. Santos, Founding Director, Precious Heritage Children’s Home.

Swing for the Kids is presented by True North Advantage, a professional services staffing firm. Corporate partners and sponsors include Garibaldi Restaurant, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, Lucanna Auction House, Montigo Resorts Nongsa, Mr KooKee Traditional Acupuncture Massage, OSO Ristorante, Proof & Company, Telunas Resorts, Urban Fairways, W Hotel Singapore, and We need a Hero.
