Guest-of-honour Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of State for Finance and Transport, also joined in the run which was flagged off at The Float @ Marina Bay.
The highlight of the event was the Chief Challenge where 17 corporate chiefs joined SGX CEO Mr Magnus Bocker, in running and raising funds. In addition to the 5km run, the Chief Challenge and the annual ‘Management Team Relay’ segments, The Bull Charge® 2011 featured a new activity, the “Bull Challenge”. During this segment, the enthusiastic crowd cheered on as eight teams – each comprising sponsors paired with beneficiaries - competed to lasso and bring in floating bulls from across the water around The Float.
Steadfast sponsors of The Bull Charge including Noble Group, Binjaitree, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, Thai Beverage, UOB Group, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Temasek Holdings and many others once again showed their full support of the event.
Said Mr Bocker, “I am heartened by the strong support shown by our corporate sponsors, corporate chiefs and runners. Your participation in The Bull Charge shows that a financial community with a heart can indeed make a difference to those in need.”
Over the past eight years, The Bull Charge has raised more than S$17 million for various charities.
