Sony brings Personal Space™ to Europe: Free, easy photo and video sharing service with friends and family

Now rolling out across Europe, Personal Space™ is a free service that streamlines the tricky process of sharing photos and videos via the Internet. With a few clicks it’s easy to share all those memories captured with your Cyber-shot™ camera, Handycam® camcorder, α DSLR or Bloggie™ mobile HD snap camera.

Instead of sending slow, bulky file attachments, Personal Space™ users simply email a web link to anyone in their customized Sharing Group. With only one click, friends and family can view shared photos and videos in their browser or from their mobile device.

The service has already launched in the UK, with France and Germany scheduled to follow in October 2010.  Personal Space™ is also available in the United States, Canada, and Japan.

Key features of Personal Space™ include:
Integrated Experience: Personal Space™ is part of a total experience which includes shooting, importing, viewing, and sharing of photos and videos.  Personal Space can be accessed from the latest version of PMB (Picture Motion Browser version 5.2 or higher) or PMB Portable (version 5.2 or higher) software*. Personal Space™ is also directly accessible via Bloggie Software that is integrated into the new Bloggie™ Touch MHS-TS20K mobile HD snap camera.

· Quick, easy sharing: Once a Sharing Group has been created, it’s easy to add new photos and videos at any time. There’s no need to re-type long lists of recipients’ email addresses: Sharing Group members are notified automatically via email when new photos and videos are ready to be viewed.

· No more attachments: Sending multiple photo or video attachments to several email recipients can be a slow, ponderous and unreliable process.  Using Personal Space™ eliminates the risk of over-sized attachments being rejected by an email provider.

· One Click Viewing: With Personal Space™, invited members of your Sharing Group simply click one link to view your photos and videos in all popular web browsers.

· Mobile Access: Available later in 2010, Personal Space™ apps for Android and iPhone smartphones will provide on-the-go access to Sharing Groups. Users of Sony Ericsson Android-based smartphones can also create new Sharing Groups and add new photos and videos from their handheld device.

*PMB is bundled with Handycam®, Cyber-shot™, α and selected digital imaging accessories by Sony. PMB Portable is pre-installed in Cyber-shot™ 2010 models and Bloggie™ MHS-PM5/CM5.
