Police investigate collision between car and pedestrians in Littlehampton

Detectives are investigating an incident in Littlehampton in which a car was reported to have collided with two pedestrians, injuring them both.

At 6.25pm on Thursday (21 March) police received several calls about a vehicle driving at people in Manning Road, Littlehampton.

A 39-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both local to the area, were reported to have been hit by a BMW which drove on to the pavement as they were walking along.

They were treated at Worthing Hospital for minor injuries.

A Vauxhall Zafira was found at the scene with damage and the BMW was later found abandoned nearby, also with some damage.

Detective Constable Colin Taylor said; "Our investigation is at an early stage and we are working to establish the full circumstances any criminal motive, but it does already appear that this incident involves people known to each other.
