The photography contest Swedish Light has proven to be a success . The Swedish people have sent in over 3 000 photos and in very tough competition now twenty winners have been selected to present Sweden to international visitors in Terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Thus, the photos are the first welcome to the more than 30 000 passengers who pass daily at Terminal 5.

Swedavia has determined the direction of Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s continued development at a comprehensive level over the next 30 years. The development plan adopted entails measures to expand capacity, increase efficiency and heighten the experience for passengers at the airport. Fully implemented, the development plan includes SEK 13 billion in capital spending.

Swedavia has now updated the Swedavia Swedish Airports app with a range of services. Most requested are the gate and boarding information for departing flights. Other features will be the time of arrival of the luggage and a travel planner for public transportation to and from the airport. The app is now available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 8.

The vehicle will visit different places in Stockholm and sell food from different restaurants at the ariport. The Food Truck will now allow more people to explore the variety. The terminal has expanded by more than 2,000 square metres. For the first time, the number of foreign visitors at Stockholm Arlanda Airport exceeded three million in 2011. Meanwhile, Swedish travellers are choosing Spain in ever larger numbers. Foreign visitors at Swedavia’s airports accounted for a full 83 per cent of the increase in international travel during the year, which shows that Sweden continues to grow as an attractive destination.
