A significant number of these children will die if they are not diagnosed early and started on antiretroviral drugs (ARVs). The problem is not the lack of ARVs as much as a lack of proper HIV early infant diagnostics (EID). Recent reports indicate that RT-technology may be an answer to improved access to (EID).
