QAwerk’s Weekly Bug Crawl exposes bugs in Android and iOS applications

Software development is a popular, yet complex matter. Thousands of new apps hit both Android and iOS market each day. Some of them shine with stunning visuals, some - with excessive functionality. But it is frequently forgotten that a good application has to be stable and pleasant to use.

When a development team lacks employees, time, money or motivation, the resulting app may come raw. Yes, it would still probably accomplish its main goals and functions, but its flaws are often visible at the very first glance. Keeping in mind the eternal problem of the lack of software testing, QAwerk started a blog with a permanent rubric of Weekly Bug Crawl. In it, they expose bugs found in various applications and point out which outcome would be acceptable in a given situation.

Quite often QAwerk finds trivial bugs which should just not be present in any application, though they are harmless most of the time. Broken view, unsupported resolutions, lack of format check in the fields - some bugs aren’t going to ruin your experience right away. But some applications are being relied on, therefore they have to be flawless. Poorly-written file manager will corrupt your valuable data, and untested bank app will lose your money. Even eminent developers sometimes have critical bugs in their applications. No one is insured against bugs.

QAwerk has created this rubric to show that bugs could be found anywhere, from startups to massive projects with a huge user base. People don’t want to use inconvenient, clunky software that tends to crash. And that’s why each developer should pay more attention to the quality of their products and test them more thoughtfully before and after the release.
