Ground-breaking exercise supported by Exonaut software

Exercise Unified Response – a large-scale and complex live and command post exercise – is officially launched at a conference in London today. London Fire Brigade is hosting the exercise and has selected 4C Strategies’ exercise management solution, Exonaut™, to support the UK’s largest ever multi-agency training exercise.

All aspects of the response to a major incident

Featuring more than 70 organisations from across the UK and from Hungary, Italy and Cyprus, Exercise Unified Response will involve the implementation of all aspects of the response to a major incident. The scenario will be based on a significant building collapse, incorporating heavy transport and mass casualties. All of London’s emergency response organisations, including local and national authorities, will be involved together with specialised teams such as Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR).

The software solution for training and exercise management

Exonaut™ will be used to deliver an automated platform for exercise design, development, delivery and evaluation. The Exonaut™ Observer mobile app will be used by exercise participants, evaluators and observers from across the EU to track the live status of the exercise and its findings. Thanks to all relevant personnel being able to easily share information in the system, a real-time view of the sequence of events will be accessible. With key observations made in the form of text, audio, images and video, a rich and informed assessment of the exercise will be created. The mobile tool will create opportunities for the management and monitoring of rescue services for both preventative and operational activities.

The day long seminar will discuss the use of the EU Protocol. Exercise Unified Response will be held in February and March.
