Misuse of Hay Fever Medication Causes Misery for Millions

According to Allergy UK, millions of people are suffering unnecessarily. The national charity estimates that nearly 18 million people[i] have hay fever (or seasonal allergic rhinitis) in the UK. But new research[ii] conducted by Allergy UK reveals that for 62% of hay fever sufferers their current hay fever medication isn’t effective.

Britain is facing an allergy epidemic made worse by poor resources within the NHS which has left sufferers feeling terrified and abandoned, the national charity, Allergy UK has revealed. This Allergy Awareness Week (22nd – 28th April), Allergy UK is taking action on behalf of millions of allergy sufferers to address this growing public health issue.

According to national charity Allergy UK the bedroom is the most allergic room in the house. 77% of those with an indoor allergy suffer in the bedroom, but 41% recognise their symptoms are actually made worse by that room.
