On Wednesday 5 June the Environment Agency began a consultation for an Environmental Permit for Milton Keynes Waste Recovery Park.The consultation period will run from 5 June 2013 until the 24 July 2013.
An Environmental Permit from the Environment Agency needs to be in place before the plant can start operating. Environmental Permits contain specific conditions and emission limits that must be complied with while the plant is operating. Separate planning permission from Milton Keynes Council will also be required for the plant.
A community drop-in is being held in Wolverton, Milton Keynes for the public to come and find out about the Environment Agency's role in the proposed Milton Keynes Waste Recovery Park. Visitors will be able to see the full environmental permit application and make informal comments on it to local Environment Agency staff.
