Adagio Visit to Lac Annecy - Ellen Shore

Well it was a first and the weather felt like a first!

We anticipated pleasant flower filled meadows and gentle walks in the sun, sparkling lakes and drinks on the terraces at night, well we did see sparkling lakes when the sun shone but we also saw the lakes in many hues of grey and a lot of rain.

The day we went to the Bauges Massif we were met with snow and white mist with crocuses trying to peep through the snow.  However walk we did thanks to the expert leadership and cheerfulness of the leader, who accompanied us and the resolute fortitude of the group not to be outdone by the weather.  The lodge keeper who opened up for us gave us hearty lunch of Tartiflette or a sandwich and we opted for a warming glass of vin chaud.

This walk was a highlight for me, I was fascinated by the changing mood on the ridge one moment completely white then the sun trying to peep through.

Would I walk with Adagio again the answer is yes.
