What do you want from a D-grade holiday? Only walking, walking and some sight-seeing, or more sight-seeing than walking? What makes a Ramblers holiday? Answering my own questions I am looking for a day’s walk with some sight-seeing and the leader makes the holiday for the party. In this case Ian Foster was just the person to unite the group and through his enthusiasm he gave us a full experience.
Girgenti. In 1983, Guza Mifsud claimed that in the 1950s she had visions of Our Lady in her house.
The other attraction of this holiday was that Ian organised locals to guide us through some of the sights with the highlight being the Xemxija Heritage Trail which consists of 20 Roman sites ranging from caves, aparies and baths. The local guide was passionate about the work he has done there over the last 50 years.

The split of five days on Malta and five days on Gozo is ideal with walking on Malta being on more arid terrain. The two hotels were well situated for all our activities and they were comfortable and clean. The residents on both islands are very friendly and they are proud of their heritage.
