Recharge4040 | Profile: Energy technology disrupter Robyn Beavers

Robyn Beavers, senior vice president of Innovation and founder of Station A Group at NRG Energy, is leading innovation for one of the largest companies in the energy industry that is widely recognized as a visionary and a disrupter.

She joined NRG Energy to lead a newly-formed group dedicated to the adoption of new technologies that is changing how the energy industry serves consumers of all sizes, including developing countries.

Prior to joining NRG, Robyn worked with top innovators, including Dean Kamen and Larry Page & Sergey Brin at Google, with whom she quickly developed her track-record of conceptualizing innovative ideas and strategies to promote renewable energy, energy efficiency and costs savings.

At Google, she helped spearhead the green building efforts for Google’s offices, and then went on to launch Google’s first green strategy team, which including energy efficiency retrofits for Google's global offices, employee incentive programs, and the creation of a large scale renewable energy investment program.

Before that, at Vestas Wind Systems, Robyn was one of the first hires for its new emerging segments team and worked with fellow Recharge4040 member Morten Albaek on the creation of WindMade, a global NGO that supports branding of products made with wind energy.

She lives in San Francisco, CA.
