Rafael Valverde is the executive secretary for Energy Affairs at the Industry, Commerce and Mining Secretariat in the State of Bahia, Brazil.
He is responsible for advising the Government of the State of Bahia on the energy sector and attracting investment, especially for the development of wind and solar energy and its supply chain. Currently, he is particularly focused on the implementation, expansion and consolidation of the wind energy industry in Bahia.
Valverde was a Special Advisor for energy affairs with the responsibility of proposing guidelines for the industrial and services policy, assessing and evaluating plans, programs and specific projects for the development of the sector in Bahia, monitor the policies and programs of the Federal Government and its effects on the state level and promote the involvement of economic agents in the actions taken by the state.
He has worked as a researcher in renewable, climate change and regulation of the energy sector- as well as an engineering teacher. Valverde was a consultant to several companies in the energy and engineering.
