Paul Jordan is the Global Market Sector Head, Clean Energy & Power Generation for global technology company Ricardo UK. He has over 18 years of experience working in the Energy Sector, 12 of which have been spent on Clean Energy projects
Paul has substantial commercialization experience from working in conventional and renewable energy start-ups and with the innovation team at Ricardo and VC team at the Carbon Trust. Before 2010, when he moved to Ricardo UK, he was the Business Development Director of Ocean Power Technologies, and prior to that he worked as the Senior Programme Manager at the Carbon Trust.
At the moment, he is responsible for the Clean Energy and Power Generation strategy and market sector development for Ricardo, where he has led the award of technology contracts to Ricardo on major new Offshore Renewables projects, such as Samsung's 7MW offshore wind turbines and Atlantis Resources for their ETI Tidal Energy Demonstration project.
He implemented Ricardo's drive into smart systems/energy storage with support to Ricardo-AEA in Future Cities- leading to the award of an SBIR future cities project and “My Electric Avenue” role, and initiated and supported other major low carbon technology programmes including biomass, lighting, micro-CHP and smart metering at the Carbon Trust.
Paul has a MBA from INSEAD and a MEng (Mechanical Engineering Europe) from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
