BT named a leader in Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service, Worldwide

Evaluation based on completeness of vision and ability to execute

BT today announced that it has been named by Gartner Inc. as a Leader in the August 2016 Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), Worldwide. BT has improved its position on last year, moving from the Challenger to the Leaders Quadrant, where it has been positioned the highest for its ability to execute.

For this report, Gartner evaluated 16 companies against seven criteria related to their ability to execute, and across eight criteria for their completeness of vision.

According to the report, “Vendors in the Leaders Quadrant have been delivering complete UCaaS solutions for multiple years, have clients with more than 5,000 employees supported and have more than 400,000 total employees supported. These vendors have their accounts implementing a comprehensive and integrated UCaaS solution set that addresses the full range of market needs, along with the proven ability to service large accounts. The vendors have defined migration and evolution plans for their products in core UCaaS areas and are using solution sets to acquire new clients, expand their geographical footprints, and innovate to new functional areas.”

Luis Alvarez, CEO, Global Services, BT, said: “We are delighted to be named a worldwide Leader for Unified Communications as a Service. We believe this demonstrates the significant and rapid progress made by the BT One team globally in the last few quarters. We see this as validating our strategy of offering a deep base of networks, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking, Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connectivity, Dolby high-definition voice, security, hosting and managed services to complement our UCaaS portfolio. We believe BT’s position in this latest report recognises our continued investment in our portfolio and feel this is further validation of our BT One Cloud offering and of our Cloud of Clouds portfolio strategy.”
