South Tyneside job opportunities with BT for ex-service personnel

Members of the Armed Forces community can find out about recruitment opportunities with BT in South Tyneside at an open evening next week.

They are being invited with their families to attend a recruitment open evening atBT’s flagship building 1 Harton Quay, South Shields, NE33 1JN, from 5pm until 7.15pm, on Tuesday 24 January.

The open evening is a partnership approach between BT and South Tyneside Council to help ex-service personnel and reservists as well as their families gain employment.

During the opening evening members of the Armed Forces community will be able to gain an insight into BT as a company as well as information about the sales and customer advisor opportunities currently available.

Staff from BT will be on hand to explain what the roles will involve, how to apply as well as discuss the benefits, training and support available if they are successful in joining the company.

And on Thursday 9 February, from 3pm until 6pm, an interview workshop will be held at the Harton Quay site for potential applicants who want to develop their interview and presentation skills.

Councillor Ed Malcolm, chair of the South Tyneside Armed Forces Forum, said:“I would encourage members of the Armed Forces community across the Borough to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to join one of the UK’s most respected employers.

“It is extremely positive to be working with BT, who along with South Tyneside Council, recognise the valuable transferable skills, talent and experience members of the Armed Forces community possess.

“We are fully committed to supporting ex-service personnel and reservists, as well as their families, to ensure that they can access the help and support they need.

“This open evening is just one example of how we are working to help the Armed Forces community within the Borough and we would encourage them to attend to find out more about the opportunities for them at BT.”
