New mural brings all parts of community together

A colourful new mural has been created in the courtyard of Coronation Road Community Centre and Library in Radcliffe.

The aim was to tackle the effects of anti-social behaviour and build strong relationships between different parts of the community.

Local people of all ages joined in, submitting pictures that held special meaning to them. These were then incorporated into the art work by local artist Chris Johnstone.

Simon Joos, community development officer, said: "This piece of work is a reminder of what can be achieved when everyone works together, and we owe a big thanks to the Rock Bursary fund for providing the funding, artist Chris Johnstone, and to everyone from the community who took part."

There are many different activities and events at the centre that the public can get involved in. For details, drop into the centre, call 0161 253 5443 or email coronation.lib@bury.gov.uk.
