Policing for the future

Greater Manchester Police has launched a consultation about the future of policing in the next four years and it needs your views.

The consultation is taking place during December, January and February across the whole of Greater Manchester and the Force needs people in Bury to make their views known. The work will inform the development of the police’s first citizen contract.

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: “We need everyone to play their part in keeping Greater Manchester safe. We are going out to discuss what people expect from us at GMP and also what we, the police, need from citizens of Greater Manchester.

“It is a significant undertaking and I hope that everyone will take the opportunity to get involved. There are a number of ways people can take part including through the website, social media and meetings that are being organised.”

A short animation has been created to explain the citizen contract and what it means for policing which is available on the GMP website or by clicking here https://youtu.be/6khKO-qv5nI

Details can be found on the GMP website www.gmp.police.uk under About GMP and Future of Policing. Updates will be circulated through social media on Twitter @gmpolice and Facebook Gtrmanchesterpolice.

If there are any questions about the details within the consultation a special email address has been set up gmp.future@gmp.police.uk to provide answers.
