Road closures in Radcliffe and Bury

Please note that Church Street West in Radcliffe and Bell Lane in Bury are currently closed to motorists.

Church Street West has been closed because the former Radcliffe Times building has been declared unsafe.

The road has been closed to through traffic from Spring Lane to Seymour Street. Traffic will be diverted via Spring Lane – Water Street – Pilkington Way – Dale Street and vice versa.

Currently pedestrian access is being maintained on the north side of Church Street West (on the side of the health centre) but this will be reviewed on a half-hourly basis should the wind again increase.

The building's owners are aware of the problem and we have been informed that a contractor is en route and they will erect Heras fencing and inspect the building.

Also, Bell Lane in Bury has been closed due to a serious road incident involving a car and a cyclist.
