Roads notice – Walmersley Road area

On Monday 31 October, Walmersley Road, Bury, between its junctions with Fox Street and Topping Street, will be closed to through traffic between 7pm and 6am.

This is so that Electricity North West can carry out emergency re-cabling works to a high voltage main.

The work also requires temporary two-way traffic signals to be in place from Tuesday to Thursday (1-3 Nov) on Walmersley Road, and the closures of Badger Street and Buckley Street.

In the same location, United Utilities need to carry out urgent work to repair a major water main, but this may take into the following week. This means that Badger Street will remain closed throughout, although it is hoped that Buckley Street can reopen sooner.
