Bury Council elections - the results
Labour now have a majority of 13 seats on Bury Council following yesterday’s (Thursday 5 May) local elections.
They lost two seats (Ramsbottom and Sedgley) to the Conservatives and one (Holyrood) to the Liberal Democrats, but won the only seat held by the Greens (Radcliffe East). The Conservatives also won the only Independent seat, in Pilkington Park.
One third of the council’s 51 seats were up for election.
The new balance on Bury Council is: Labour 32 seats, Conservatives 16, and Liberal Democrats 3.
The votes were counted at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury, and the full results can be read at http://www.bury.gov.uk/results
