Card craft group raises money for Bury Hospice

Members of the card craft group that meets at Radcliffe Library have been busy making and selling cards in aid of Bury Hospice.

They recently raised £451, which they presented to hospice community fund-raiser Michelle King.

Michelle said: “It was great to meet the members of the group and we talked about the hospice and its new facilities. The money they raised could help pay for 15 hours of patient care for a single patient on our in-patient unit, which is fantastic and will really make a difference.

“There are many ways people can raise much-needed funds. We’ve organised a Family Funday and Battle of the Businesses at 1st Bowl, Pilsworth Road, Bury on Wednesday 24 July, and a Morecambe Bay Walk on Saturday 20 July. Please visit our website http://buryhospice.co.uk/ for further information about all our planned events and the hospice.”

The card craft group meets on Thursdays from 10am to noon, and will resume sessions in September following a summer break.
