Dance yourself dizzy – and tuck into quality local produce

Radcliffe Piazza will be bustling with colour and celebration when the annual Dance-Off takes place on Saturday (8 June).

This annual celebration of music and dance, now in its fifth year, offers visitors a wide range of entertainment from noon to 3pm.

There’s also a second attraction on the big day - the Piazza is home to the newly revamped Artisan Market (from 9.30am), where you can buy a variety of quality local produce.

All styles of dancing will be on display – from ballet and ballroom to modern and break/urban, Latin and belly dance to cheer-leading and line-dancing. Categories include 'groups' and 'singles' heats.

The competition will be judged by professionals in the trade, who will be looking for precision choreography and showmanship, and there are prizes and trophies in all categories.

Among those taking part will be the SDZ Academy, Footsteps Dance School, Freak Dance and more.

Radcliffe Dance-off is a joint initiative between Bury Council’s town centres team and the Radcliffe Traders Group.

Councillor Jane Lewis, cabinet member for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “Visitors at previous Dance-Offs know what an enjoyable event it is, with entertainment for all ages. Having the new Artisan Market at the Piazza is a second great reason for going, and I hope as many people as possible come down and join us for a fantastic celebration in Radcliffe.”
