Free online resources at the library

Press Release   •   Jul 18, 2013 16:43 BST

Members of Bury’s libraries can take advantage of a wide range of free online information services.

Among them is Britannica (Junior, Student and 18+ editions). The Junior edition helps to make learning fun and teach children about different subjects such as nutrition - see http://spotlight.britannica.co.uk/FoodNutrition. Meanwhile, the Activity Centre has puzzles and games, including a word search, a crossword and a quiz, which all help to encourage learning.

Another popular online resource is the Theory Test Pro (http://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=3437), a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory tests for cars, motorbikes, HGV and PCV. This is completely free to anyone visiting any of Bury’s libraries and, if you are a library member, you can also access this resource from your home computer.
