Press release -

Funding available for community groups across the borough

Community groups are invited to apply for up to £1,000 for local projects that improve the health and wellbeing of residents in their neighbourhood.

Projects should be community-led and demonstrate that they help people to help themselves and others to live a good life.

Groups who apply for the funding will be invited to attend a public event called ‘The Pitch’, where they make their case for funding before local residents who then vote for the projects they wish to see funded.

There will be two presentation events:

  • North Bury - on Tuesday 11 July, 5pm at The Derby High School. This is for projects in Ramsbottom, Tottington, North Manor, Bury West and/or Bury East.
  • South Bury – Tuesday 25 July, 5pm at the Longfield Suite, Prestwich. This is for projects in Radcliffe, Whitefield, Unsworth and/or Prestwich.

For more information, or an application form, go to www.theburydirectory.co.uk/thepitch. The deadline for applications is Friday 30 June at 4pm. Alternatively, call township co-ordinator Ruth Shedwick on 0161 253 5327.
