Health and sporting tips on Bury Market

Free health checks and advice on exercise awaits shoppers when they visit Bury Market on Friday 17 January.

Staff from Bury Sport and Physical Activity Service will be there from 11am to 2pm, in an event co-inciding with National Obesity Awareness Week.

They will be offering blood pressure and BMI checks, carried out confidentially by qualified exercise referral officers. There will also be an introduction to Bury’s new Junior Exercise Referral Scheme – YOLO (You Only Live Once) - and advice on healthy eating and how to get help from health trainers.

They will also help you to get involved with the I Will If You Will project, a national pilot scheme to encourage women and girls to take up sport and exercise.
