Moorside residents support Macmillan

Kind-hearted residents went to Moorside Library for a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Members of the community got involved by baking cakes which were sold to raise money.

The event was supported by many services such as the fire service, smoking cessation, alcohol reduction, health trainers, Bury Adult Learning Service, Women’s Housing Action Group (WHAG) and the police. Staff from the children's centre held a crafts session for children to make pictures of autumn leaves, and gave them goody bags to take away.

Dawn Broadhurst, community development officer, said: “The event was really well supported and we raised £90 so I want to thank everyone taking part.”
