Press release -

New year, new challenges at the township forum

Radcliffe residents are urged to attend the first Township Forum of 2017 on Tuesday 10 January.

Bury Council will present a budget road show, outlining how it proposes to make cuts of £32 million over the next three years. People are encouraged to give their views before the budget is set in February.

Also on the agenda is a presentation from Persona Care and Support, the new organisation which provides adult social care across the borough. It wants local people to join a ‘stakeholder forum’ and have their say in drawing up priorities and on how services can be best provided.

Meanwhile, Doug Glavin – Bury CCG patient cabinet member – will give a presentation on the localisation of health and social care in Radcliffe.

There will also be updates from the forum’s advisory group and on the funding available to voluntary and community groups.

The meeting is at Radcliffe United Reformed Church and starts at 6pm. The usual open forum and public question time is also on the agenda.

There will be a drop-in session before the forum starts (from 5pm) when visitors can view the plans drawn up under the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework.
